Foxx presents flag at Veterans Memorial

Congresswoman Virginia Foxx visited Ashe County on Saturday to make a special presentation to the local veterans organizations in honor of Armed Forces Day.

At the Veterans Memorial in front of Ashe County Courthouse, Foxx pesented an American flag which flew over the U.S. Capitol on Dec. 18 to members of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 80, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7946 and American Legion Post 275. Foxx spoke briefly on the role of the American veteran in helping preserve this country's freedoms, and encouraged people at this time in history to especially remember the fourth verse of The National Anthem.
